MARCHING BAND THIS WEEK

Tuesday and Thursday this week, enjoy the weekend off as we set ourselves up for the performance part of the season. TUESDAYS, we wear white t-shirts to focus on the visuals and drill. THURSDAYS, we’ll wear SHAKOS to test them out.

LAKE PARK LANCER JOUST (9/12/26)

Our FIRST SHOW PERFORMANCE is coming up soon. In the itinerary, you will find our schedule, full show schedule, and spectator information: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yaAqQPvyynuAY0FsF8Y_gUggASLqEtq4QfgFfh0gtU8/edit?usp=drive_link

FUNDRAISE GENIUS FUNDRAISER - DONATION DRIVE

Our biggest fundraiser of the year will be kicking off this week with a goal of raising $30,000 over the next two weeks! Students will receive all information at practice on Tuesday 9/1 including a blank form to collect contact information for potential donors.

Please start collecting emails or phone numbers for a minimum of 10 different family members, family friends, parent’s co-workers, etc. (please don’t include past teachers or band directors). Students will bring this list to practice on Thursday 9/3 where we will help them enter this information into the Fundraise Genius platform during practice.

The first email/text blast will be sent out to those contacts on Friday directing them to our specific PNHS Marching Tigers Fundraise Genius page where they will learn why we are reaching out, how it benefits the students, and how they can contribute to our program!

There will be some reward opportunities for students to be won by top participants and the funds raised by this event are crucial for keeping our program running at “1st Place in State” levels! So, please help your student gather as many high-quality contacts as you can to be ready to start making an impact on Thursday!

SECTIONALS

Wind Sectionals CONTINUE this week. Students are expected to attend sectionals. These rehearsals provide a great opportunity for individual growth within a group setting. Since we began holding sectional rehearsals several years ago, we've eliminated playing tests, as we've seen students improve more through sectionals.

Guard and Percussion sectionals are before rehearsals on Tuesday and/or Thursday. Staff will specify who should be at those sectionals.

BAND HANDBOOK

Great to see many parents at Curriculum Night! Here is our band handbook with general information about the band program, grading, and more! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JnCbdHqlXgZQLPF57x6NmYD-vLJbWmUAF54N7Xtjb2c/edit?usp=sharing

ABSENCES

Attendance at all rehearsals and performances is mandatory. Our success as a group depends on the commitment of every individual. When a member is absent, it directly impacts the entire ensemble's ability to prepare and perform at its best.

Attendance directly affects a student's grade and performance status. We encourage students to balance their commitments and prioritize their involvement. We understand conflicts happen, just please communicate!

Absence Reporting: If a student will miss a full band rehearsal or performance for an excused absence, a parent or guardian must complete the Absence Report Form at the link below.

  • Do not email the directors about absences unless you have a specific question. The form is the required method for reporting.

  • Filling out the form does not automatically excuse an absence. The director will review the submission.

Contact Information:Mr. La Vallee is the director in charge of attendance. He can be reached at jlavalle@psd202.org

Color Guard and Percussion: Do not use this form for sectional absences. Please contact your section heads directly to report any absences or issues.https://forms.gle/PwFju9Zye95i85rf7
